Charter school signs lease with East Midwood Jewish Center for location to educate at-risk children
Urban Dove Charter School through the entity Urban Dove Team Charter Schools signed a six-year lease with the East Midwood Jewish Center for 1256 East 21st Street in Midwood, Brooklyn. The memorandum of lease closed on June 10, 2020, and was recorded on June 18, 2020. The transaction consists of 1 parcel, including the tax class parochial schools, yeshivas (W2). The property is 41,832 square feet.
The six-year lease was signed September 1, 2019, and has two renewal options of five years each. The school, which serves academically at-risk children, faced opposition at a community hearing last year. The space was formerly occupied by a Midwood Day School, according to news articles.
