Buchbinder & Warren files plans for demolition of four buildings in Grand Central

Buchbinder & Warren Realty Group, on May 20, filed four permit applications for the demolition of four buildings at 8-16 West 45th Street in Grand Central.
No new building plans have been filed in either BIS Web or DOB Now at any of the four parcels. It is unclear what the plans for the site are. Lori Buchbinder, a principal with Buchbinder & Warren, filed the plans. She did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the plans for the site.
The neighborhood has seen a series of significant new development projects planned so far this year. In January, just around the corner from the site of the planned demolitions, Rabina Properties filed a permit application for construction of a 98-unit, 452,134-square-foot mixed-use building at 520 Fifth Avenue.
To the north, in Midtown West, Extell Development is planning to construct a 670-key, 242,759-square-foot, mixed-use hotel building at 1710 Broadway and a 400-key, 208,962-square-foot mixed-use hotel at 201 West 54th Street.
The first plans call for the demolition of a six-story building at 8 West 45th Street.
