Brookfield pays $15M to Akerman, developer’s sixth recorded lease buyout at 666 Fifth Avenue

Brookfield Properties through the entity BSREP III Nero LLC paid Akerman LLP $15 million for a lease buyout at 666 Fifth Avenue in the Plaza District. The deal closed on July 16, 2020, and was recorded on August 11, 2020.

Brookfield has bought out at least six leases for a total of $37.7 million, with the Akerman lease the most expensive yet, according to an analysis by PincusCo Media. Brookfield has filed several plans for its announced $400 million rehabilitation of the building.
