Taconic files $40.4M plan for conversion to life sciences building in Lincoln Square

Taconic Partners, on November 13, filed a permit application for a $40.4 million rehabilitation of several floors of an office building at 125 West End Avenue in Lincoln Square.

The plans call for a rehab of the basement, roof, and all floors of the 104-foot tall, seven-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: filing for interior renovation as per plans filed herewith. No change to use, egress or occupancy under this application. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $40.36 million.

The developer announced plans last month to redevelop the building into a state-of-the-art, research and laboratory complex.

Taconic purchased the building, along with 320 West 66th Street and an adjacent lot which comes with 105,575-square-feet of development rights, for $220 million from Silverstein Properties last year.

As part of the redevelopment, Taconic will be recladding the building.

Reports indicated the developer plans to begin the process when media company ABC, which has occupied parts of the assemblage since 1985, vacates the properties in January 2021. The project is expected to be complete by 2023.
