Royal Builders files plans for 53K sf community, commercial building in Borough Park

Joshua Markovics’ Royal Builders Development, on October 4, filed a permit application for construction of a 53,629-square-foot community and commercial building at 5402 Fort Hamilton Parkway in Borough Park, Brooklyn.

Earlier this year the developer filed plans for a 97-foot tall, eight-story, 64,817-square-foot commercial building at 1514 60th Street in Borough Park. Another project of the developer’s began to wrap up this year as well. On January 12, Markovics was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for a $2.9 million project which added seven stories of community space to what had been a single-story commercial building at 2250 59th Street in Kensington.

The new plans call for the construction of an 87-foot-tall, seven-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number B00529596. The development site spans one tax lot.

The project is described in the filing as: new seven-story and cellar, commercial and community facility building.

According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have commercial retail space and philanthropic community center space. Floors two through seven will all be used for philanthropic community center space, there will also be terraces on floors five and seven, along with a third terrace on the roof. The cellar will have a parking garage with 27 spaces.

Engineering Professional Service is listed as the architect.

The property was acquired for $6.2 million on September 17, 2021.
