Deed transfer document in Acris

A Deed is a document that conveys ownership from one person or entity to another of a piece of real property such as land, a building or a Condominium unit. It is not used to convey ownership of Cooperative units. For that, see Understanding Cooperative Buildings in New York City. In New York City’s Acris website, the Deed filing is packaged with several transfer forms, including the city’s “Recording and Endorsement Cover Page,” (filed with all documents) and the New York State “Real Property Transfer Report” which is form number RP – 5217NYC.
