City files plans for 49K sf veterinary building in Morrisania

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, on October 25, filed a permit application for construction of a 49,497-square-foot veterinary building at 2060 Bartow Avenue in Morrisania, the Bronx. Sheila Benjamin filed the plans.

The job is estimated to cost $66 million.

The plans are one of 10 new building plans filed in the neighborhood so far this year.

The plans call for the construction of a 32-foot-tall, two-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number X00616474. The development site spans one tax lot.

The project is described in the filing as: Construct new two-story community facility building as per plans filed.

Per the plans, the ground floor will have office space, animal holding areas, treatment area, recovery area, surgery room, dental room, reception area, exam room, grooming room, and a behavior and training room. The scope of work does not make reference of the second floor of the building.
